I write Regency romances in which the men act like gentlemen...even when they're not. My books are a little bit sweet, a little bit sexy, and a little bit funny, with a happily-ever-after guaranteed.
I suggest the first thing you do is join my free Reader Group, the Lang Lovebirds, to receive behind-the-scenes peeks and release news before anyone else! And as a welcome gift, you'll receive a copy of the Lovebirds exclusive short story, The Forgotten Fiancé. :)
Kitty has finally escaped country life to her first London Season. John is resolved to never again reach above his class. When sparks fly, best made plans will go awry.
Despite her acting career, Frances is determined to live respectably. Will knows the most beautiful woman in the world couldn't possibly be interested in him - even if he helps her escape from dangerous scandal.
Louisa is a fallen woman who for the first time in her life is able to make her own choices. Ned, wounded in war, is just managing to keep his life together. Will their attraction heal or hurt?
I write Regency romances about complex women and men I'd want to know in real life.
My intention is always to make my readers laugh and cry, but most important to me is that you will close my books feeling happy! There isn't enough happiness in the world and I'm trying to add to it just a little bit.
In my books I try to touch on the realities of living in a bygone era (can you imagine having no running water??) but without detracting from the love story of my hero and heroine.
As for what heat level you can expect: sometimes my characters end up in the bedroom - they are human after all (wait, aren't they?) - but mostly I try to give them their privacy! If you want 100% clean or very steamy content, my work isn't for you. If you believe in characters who earn their HEA by working toward a healthy relationship (whatever that means to THEM), then I think we will get along smashingly. :)
Hello there! I'm Augustine!
I live in the beautifully rainy Pacific Northwest with my DH (Dear Housemate!), and work in a literary field. My girlhood introduction to the Regency era wasn't Heyer or even Austen, but C.S. Forester's Horatio Hornblower novels! Hornblower was my second crush (after Mr Spock).
Even though I've always been a serious reader, it took me a long time to get into the romance genre because I didn't usually find stories about the kind of witty, compassionate men I wanted to read about. Then I discovered Courtney Milan and Carla Kelly. The rest is history!
When I'm not reading or writing...oh let's face it I don't do anything else!
